DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1 Milan
Arrival in Milan, the trendsetting, bustling, shopping capital of Italy! Transfer on your own to your centrally located hotel. The remainder of the day is for relaxation.

Day 2 Milan/Lake Maggiore
Milan is a truly charming metropolis including delights to please all tastes. Highlights of your morning tour are the extravagantly pinnacled Duomo, La Scala, one of the world's most famous opera houses, Santa Maia delle Grazie to view the famous mural of the Last Supper by Leonardo de Vinci and the 15th century Sforza Castle. Pick up your car this afternoon and drive the short distance to Stresa on Lake Maggiore, your home for the next two nights. (B)

Day 3 Lake Maggiore
A day at leisure to explore on your own. We recommend a visit to Isola dei Pescatori (Fisherman's Island) located in Lake Maggiore. An enchanting little island with twisting, narrow streets and colorful fishermen's cottages is easily accessible by ferry from Stresa. (B)

Day 4 Lake Maggiore/Lugano (Switzerland)/Lake Como
From Stresa, enjoy an exhilarating excursion to Lugano, Switzerland, situated on picturesque Lake Lugano and sandwiched between the peaks of Mount Bre and Mount San Salvatore. Take some leisure time here to explore Lugano's pedestrian zone and piazzas lined with outdoor cafes and boutiques. Continue to Como, set in an idyllic landscape of mountains and rugged hillsides. Day 5 Lake Como
A full day at leisure to relax and enjoy more of the Italian Lake District! In the heart of Como lies the elegant Piazza Cavour and nearby is the magnificent 14th century Duomo. Be sure to visit Villa Carlotta, a fairytale-like 18th century palace, worthy of the Prussian Princess Carlotta for whom it was named. (B)

Day 6 Como/Verona
Depart Como for the charming town of Bellagio where you can meander through the village, absorbing all of its charm. When you have had enough, continue your drive to Verona, the town immortalized by "Romeo and Juliet". (B)
Hotel Leopardi

Day 7 Verona
You will be delighted by Verona, a city filled with medieval charm and site of the most dramatic Roman amphitheaters in Italy. Verona can only be appreciated by walking and happily the heart of the city is compact with narrow winding streets easy to explore! (B)

Day 9 Venice/Departure
Tour services end after breakfast. (B)
