En route there are many interesting places to visit. Giverny is best known as
the little village where the artist Claude Monet lived and work. The city of
Caen is one of the oldest cathedral cities in France. Deuville is lovely seaside

Day 5 Mont St. Michel/Angers/Amboise
After breakfast start towards the Loire Valley and Amboise, in the heart of the
Chateaux country. We recommend a stop in Angers, gateway to the Loire Valley, to
see its imposing 13th century chateau, home of one of France's finest medieval
tapestries. It tells the story of the Apocalypse, depicting battles between
hydras and angels. A short walk from the castle in the Cathedrale St Maurice,
noted for its Romanesque façade and stained glass windows. Continue your drive
past Tours to Amboise, one of the most charming bases from which to explore the
nearby chateaux. (B)

Day 6 Chateaux Country
For centuries French Royal families frequented the Loire Valley, and their
legacy is still visible in the chateaux ad the lush gardens of the area,
dominated by the great Chateau Royal d'Amboise, towering over the River Loire.
The nearby Chateau de Chenonceaux was created from the Renaissance onward by a
series of aristocratic women. The Chateau de Chambord is the Loire's largest
residence. All these and more are within driving distance. (B)
Day 7 Amboise/Chartres/Versailles/Paris

Chartres, world-renown for its Cathedral and its glorious collection of stained
