The easiest way to
arrange a visit to the Chelsea Flower Show.
Our package includes your
accommodation and a ticket for entrance to the Flower Show on a Royal
Horticultural Society Members' Day. The hotel we have chosen is comfortable and
friendly and is located a short distance from the show grounds at the Royal
Hospital Chelsea. In addition we include a 'Welcome' drinks/briefing reception
and a full day excursion to visit Exbury gardens in the New Forest with their
wonderful, colourful collection of azaleas and rhododendrons plus a private
garden and afternoon tea with the owners.

Journeys' Garden Day to visit Kent including a private garden and Sissinghurst.

Today you have a ticket for
the Chelsea Flower Show which is held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital,
Chelsea a short distance from your hotel. This is the most prestigious event in
the English horticultural calendar and presents a combination of breathtaking
beauty, horticultural excellence and the very latest design ideas. B
Thursday, May 23
A full day tour to Hampshire
to visit the 200 acre woodland garden created by Lionel de Rothschild on the
edge of the New Forest, with its superb display of rhododendrons, azaleas,
camellias and magnolias underpinned by bluebells. Later tour a delightful
cottage garden and enjoy afternoon tea with the owners before returning to
London. B

Falmouth before visiting Trebah, a ravine garden full of colour then on to

Wells before visiting the private, terraced garden of Milton Lodge which has

could not ignore all the requests for a rose garden tour and are delighted to
introduce this NEW TOUR for 2002. This tour will take you into South West
England, the Cotswolds and Shropshire and features a medley of rose gardens
great and small including a visit to the walled garden at Mottisfont Abbey to

Abbey House Gardens. This 5 acre garden adjacent to the ancient Malmesbury

St. Fagans Castle Gardens and the Museum of Welsh Life where traditional tools
and techniques have been used to re-create the social history of gardens in
Wales. Visit the fairytale castle of Castell Coch then on to your hotel.

An excursion
today takes you to Aberglasney an historic 11 acre garden restored with schemes
by Penelope Hobhouse then on to the new National Botanic Garden of Wales with
its great glasshouse and generous plantings. Later visit to the peaceful boat
house where the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas retreated to write much of his famous
work.

Traveling north this morning visit Winllan private garden that is a haven for
wildlife including 200 species of wildflower. Stop in old town of Dolgellau with
its narrow streets and ancient stone buildings before visiting Portmeiron a
fascinating and unique 'Italianate' village set in 70 acres of sub-tropical
woodlands overlooking the sands of the Towy estuary.

Tour the
Snowdonia National Park and ride on one of the 'Great Little Trains of Wales'
before visiting Bodnant Gardens. Considered one of the finest gardens in Europe,

Palace to visit the wonderful gardens where A Man for All Seasons was filmed.

movies.

A full day excursion to the
Isle of Wight to visit Osborne House and gardens. This was the beloved country
home of Queen Victoria and her family and was the setting for Mrs Brown. The
gardens have been restored and replanted to the original plans and there are new

View Stonehenge before visiting Wilton House and gardens, home of the Earl of
Pembroke and used in The Madness of King George, Mrs. Brown and Sense &
Sensibility. The 21 acres of landscaped parkland and gardens include formal and
rose gardens whilst the house contains one of the finest art collections in
Europe. Before traveling to Wells, enjoy the tranquility of idyllic riverside

Time to explore in Wells
before traveling to visit wonderful Elizabethan Montacute House and its formal
gardens where scenes for Sense & Sensibility were filmed. Later visit
Hestercombe Gardens, the formal gardens are a superb product of the
collaboration between Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll and adjoining this is
another, 35 acre Georgian landscape garden recently discovered and painstakingly
restored. Here scenes for Pandaemonium based on the true story of the tragic
friendship between the poets William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge have
recently been filmed.

A stop in the elegant city of Bath this morning before driving into the
Cotswolds to enjoy a pub lunch. Then visit Barnsley House garden, the famous
garden of the late Rosemary Verey who taught gardening to the inmates of a local
prison. A new movie called Greenfingers is the story of how she helped them to
win medals at the Chelsea Flower Show year after year. A scenic drive takes you
to Snowshill village and manor, featured as the family home in Bridget Jones'
Diary.

View Banbury Cross before
visiting Broughton Castle home of Lord & Lady Saye & Sele. These magnificent
gardens were used in Shakespeare in Love. Stop in the Cotswold town of Stow on
the Wold and then move on to visit Batsford Arboretum. This surrounds the home
of the Mitford family and was the setting for Love in a Cold Climate, here are
over 1500 different species of trees and shrubs set in 50 acres of typical
Cotswold countryside. Your hotel is home of the famous 'Pudding Club' and this
evening's dinner will include some samples of traditional English puddings.

before visiting Hidcote Manor Garden with its series of outdoor 'rooms', rare
