Regional Tours of France

Independent Tours of France

With the Channel tunnel train whittling down the travel time between downtown London and downtown Paris to a swift and comfortable three hours, there is every reason to extend your trip to magnificent and romantic Paris, the “City of Light”. The sleek Eurostar trains are state-of-the-art, with comfortable seating, restrooms, bar cars, and every amenity you would want. The actual duration of the trip whilst in the tunnel is actually only around 20 minutes. The majority of the travel time is spent above ground enjoying the scenery of the British and French countryside. On all the packages offered, you may extend your stay in Paris. We will be happy to quote you additional night rates.  We also offer packages that do NOT include the “chunnel” train, and would be happy to include it should it fit in with your travel plans.

In addition, many travelers who’ve been introduced to France via their short trips to Paris on Eurostar now want to discover more of this enchanting country. For them, we have planned some wonderful short tours to special regions of France such as Normandy, Brittany, the Loire Valley, Burgundy, the Champagne region, etc. We offer these regional tours as we think they should be done: via private van, ideal for groups up to 8 persons, with an English-speaking French guide.

Regional Tours of France, by private van with chauffeur-guide:

Elsie from England is pleased to present a series of short regional tours of France for travelers who wish to see more of France, but do not feel comfortable driving themselves, would like the benefit of a knowledgeable English-speaking French guide, and do not want to go with a large group. These short tours by private van are ideal for small groups of friends traveling together, or a family group. Our vans can take up to 8 passengers comfortably with sufficient room for normal luggage. These tours can be operated any day of the week and can be combined with each other.

These prices cover only transportation, guide and sightseeing tour costs. It does not include the cost of accommodations, meals, or entrance fees. Accommodation costs would depend on the type of accommodation (we would recommend a combination of hotels, bed & breakfasts, and a chateaux or two), and the type and number of rooms.
