Stop near Cashel to sample some home-baked scones with tea served at a sheep farm so you can learn a little about Irish farming. Just outside Cork visit Blarney Castle where you have an opportunity to acquire the gift of eloquence by kissing the famous stone. Continue towards the mountainous country of Kerry and into Killarney. After dinner, perhaps explore one of Killarney's famous singing pubs. Killarney Towers Hotel Day 3:Ring of Kerry Tour(B, D) Dress comfortably for a jaunting car tour which will transport you along the shores of Muckross Lake for a guided tour of the 19th century Muckross House and Folk Museum. Then embark on Ireland's most popular scenic drive, the Ring of Kerry, by skirting Ireland's highest mountains, the Macgillycuddy's Reeks. Your route passes through Glenbeigh, with palm trees and beautiful beaches; remote Waterville; and the colorful village of Sneem. Head back towards Killarney through Moll's Gap in time for dinner. Killarney Towers Hotel Day 4:Cliffs of Moher & Bunratty Castle(B, D) Depart Killarney and travel to Tarbet to take the ferry across the River Shannon. Your tour continues along the Clare coast to the Cliffs of Moher which rise 700 feet above the Atlantic. Drive to the Shannonside region to check into your hotel. This evening's dinner is a medieval-style banquet and evocative entertainment in Bunratty Castle. Great Southern Hotel Day 5:Shannon Airport & Dublin(B) This morning some of you transfer to Shannon Airport for return flights to the United States. Passengers who wish to end their tour in Dublin drive through pleasant scenery of the midland region. The tour concludes at Dublin Airport at approximately 4:00 pm or in the city center at 4:30 pm. Itinerary: Day 1:Dublin Arrival Arrive in Dublin Airport and head for the CIE Tours desk in the Arrivals Hall. Our staff will arrange a transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is free so that you may rest after your journey or do some exploring on your own. At 7:00 pm meet your tour guide for a welcome drink and discuss your itinererary for the next few days. Berkeley Court Hotel Day 2: Dublin
Tour & Theater(B, D) This morning a city sightseeing tour will introduce you to this capital city with its many historic buildings, delightful gardens and lively shopping streets. Drive around the principal areas and visit Dublin Castle, founded in the 13th century. Tour State Apartments, which date mainly from the Georgian period and contain historical portraits and furnishings as well as shimmering Waterford crystal chandeliers. Finish your morning with a guided tour around the National Museum to see priceless ancient Irish gold artifacts. The afternoon is free. Enjoy an early dinner at the Commons Restaurant before attending a performance at either the Abbey or Gate Theatre. Berkeley Court Hotel Day 3:Locke's Distillery & Galway(B, D) Leave Dublin this morning and drive west through farming country and marketing towns. In Kilbeggan tour the historic Locke's Distillery to learn about whiskey distillation processes and sample some of the product. Then continue west to Galway and motor around the city center to see the Spanish Arch, Galway Cathedral and Eyre Square. After some free time travel to Ashford Castle to arrive by mid-afternoon so you can enjoy your luxurious surroundings. Dining in the castle is an elegant gastronomic experience and the Castle Dungeon provides spirited music afterwards. Ashford Castle Hotel Day 4:Ashford & Connemara(B, D) This morning take some time to enjoy your world-class hotel. Ashford Castle dates from the 13th century but today offers every modern comfort and a full range of sporting activities. In the afternoon take a drive via Leenane and Maam Cross to see some of the Connemara region, known for its hills and surefooted sheep. Stop to visit Kylemore Abbey, a 19th century mansion that is now a prestigious school for girls. From Oughterard cruise across Lough Corrib and return to Ashford Castle by water. Enjoy another superb dinner in the stately dining room. Ashford Castle Hotel Day 5:Depart for Home(B) As today is the final day of your tour, depart your hotel to drive south via Headford and Ennis to Shannon Airport. Arrive by 10:30 am to check in for your transatlantic flight back to the United States.
