Bienvenue! Welcome!
Located a thousand miles east of Australia, New Caledonia is
surrounded by 1,600 kilometers of coral reefs and is home to the largest lagoon in the
world. Diverse landscapes and beautiful, unspoiled, palm tree-lined, white sand beaches
make this the perfect destination for a relaxing vacation. European and Melanesian
cultures are blended here, and it is sometimes dubbed the "French Riviera of the
Pacific" because of its dash of French ambience, culture, and food. Its tropical
climate is fairly stable year round. Travel from September to December is the best time to
visit. New Caledonia is an overseas territory of the French Republic. French and
Melanesian are its languages, with English also widely spoken.
