Malo E Lelei! Hello! The Kingdom of Tonga is a
collection of 169 beautiful volcanic and coral islands. Only 40 of them are inhabited. The
four main island groups are Tongatapu, Vava'u, Ha'apai, and Niaus. Tonga lies just west of
the International Date Line and is the first country to see the dawn of a new day. With
its white sand beaches and clear blue lagoons, Tonga offers a very authentic South Pacific
experience. The climate is mild tropical and temperatures average in the 70s-80s F.
Visiting during the dry season from April to November is generally the best. Having a
constitutional monarchy, Tonga is the only kingdom remaining in Polynesia and a fully
independent nation. Tongan is the native language and English is also spoken.
